Gift from Deborah in New Zealand

This nice gift of cute clothes came all the way from Julie's Kiwi friend, Deborah, in New Zealand. It got tangled up in the Canada Post strike, so we (and Deborah too) were very glad when it finally arrived, intact. And just look at what was inside...

Note especially the animals on different items, plus the hand-made booties. And we just love the name on the little white terry-knit suit - can you see it? In case not, it's called a "Wondersuit." Isn't that great? :-)

Gift from Julie's Grandmother, Nannie Hughena

This lovely gift from Julie's grandmother, Hughena, arrived in the mail this week.

There were some larger baby clothes (6-12 mos), which is great because most folks have sent newborn-size outfits. Besides that, she sent the cute prayer lamb stuffed toy, which we can use to help Baby learn to say prayers.

And of course there is the main gift - an unbreakable melamine dish set for Baby,  from Royal Doulton's Bunnykins line. Like us, Nannie Hughena loves all things British, so this gift was a perfect choice.

Gift from Kristine in Germany

Here is part of yet another baby gift, this time from our friend, Kristine, in Germany.

Check out the cute cookie bib made of practical vinyl/plastic - and the leprechaun bib she picked up for us, on a recent trip to Ireland.

Updated - What Baby Has & Needs Lists

Today, July 18th, we did another update to our lists of what Baby Golding Page has and needs. Here are the links:

Baby Gets Early Start on Mail

Here's what arrived in the mail from Julie's penpal, Angie, in Maryland, USA.

Now Baby Golding Page can get a head-start on learning all about how mail works...which is good, because he or she is going to see Mummy and Daddy sending and receiving a lot through the post, with all their friends and family around the world. And the postal system is in the genes, so to speak, since Baby's Great-Grammy Pauline Golding was a postmistress herself.

Isn't this an appropriate and cool gift? :-)

Mmm...

Painting for the Nursery

We asked an artist friend, Laura Gendall (a member of our church in Arborfield) to create a painting for the nursery.

The only guideline we gave for our commissioned art was that it be somehow on the theme of Noah's Ark - Laura's own interpretation of the story. And here is what she came up with...isn't it fantastic?

We'd love to hear your impressions of this wonderful artwork. What do you think?

TicTacToe Welsh style

Check out this cute Tic Tac Toe game, a battle royale between the Welsh Red Dragon and the omni-present Welsh sheep.

It was sent as a birthday gift for Steve. But between the vagaries of international shipping and the recent Canada Post strike and lockout, the package was in transit for 4 and a half months.

But worth the wait! Thank You ellaitchbee, we love it!
